Composed of dozens of cotton scraps bearing Native American-inspired motifs—arrows, thunderbirds, turtles, and corn—this quilt likely dates to the 1930s or '40s.
The patchwork is arranged in columns, with faded reds, soft yellows, and dusky indigos that speak to decades of use and exposure.
Some panels show signs of fraying, and the quilting is done by hand with thick thread. An improvised border of striped cotton frames the whole, giving it a grounded, rustic rhythm.
